The mission of Pure Hockey Skills is the development of life skills, athletic skills, character and teamwork through coaching and mentoring youth through the game of hockey.
Pure Hockey Skills is a volunteer run 501(c)(3) organization located in Jamestown, ND.
Skills Development Camp
Pure Hockey Skills in partnership with the University of Jamestown is proud to offer our Spring Skills Development camp.
The development camp is led by the University of Jamestown hockey program players and coaching staff.
The development camp is separated by age to provide age appropriate training and development for all participants.
Dedicated sessions are also provided for goalie players.
Development camp for the 2024 season will begin March 17, 2024 and run through April 18, 2024. All camp activities will take place at the Winter Sports Building (Wilson and Eagles arenas) in Jamestown, ND.

Spring Tournament Teams
Pure Hockey Skills is proud to sponsor the Jamestown Flyers. Flyers hockey is open to boys and girls of all ages. The primary goal of the Flyers program is to provide our skaters with an opportunity to continue skill progression and development during the spring.
Participants of the Flyers are guaranteed participation in two away tournaments each season. The location of each tournament is selected by the Pure Hockey Skills board of directors, coaching staff and parents based on the best interest of each team.
Registration fees for the Flyers spring hockey program are used to cover tournament registration costs and dedicated team practice time.

Skills Competition
The Skills Competition is annual event that allows the skater to showcase their skills!
Skaters compete in three categories of events:
- Skating
- Puck Handling
- Shooting Accuracy
Skaters are separated by age group. The skater from each age group with the highest point total at the end of the competition gets their name added to the banner displayed on the West wall of Wilson Arena.

Battle on the Prairie
Battle on the Prairie is an annual tournament hosted by Pure Hockey Skills. The event takes place over multiple weekends in Jamestown, ND.
The tournament is open to boys and girls of all ages.
All proceeds from the event are directed back into the Pure Hockey Skills program to help offset the cost of the future activities.
Planning for the 2025 tournament is underway so please check back in the Fall of 2024 for tournament dates and information.
